The Rabbit has a Name
"Dewey" is the name! Martha Pettigrew's rabbit sculpture will be called "Dewey" in honor of our newly decorated Fountain Hills Library.
Sydnee Pilarski is the winner. Syndee, 10 years old, is a Fountain Hills resident and is in the 5th grade at Laguna Elementary in Scottsdale. "Reading and the Fountain Hills Library have both been a huge part of Sydnee's upbringing, and this just adds to the positive influence literacy has had on her," said her mother, Jayne Pilarski. Congratulations, Sydnee!
"Dewey" will be placed permanently in the Centennial Circle in front of the library and dedicated on February 12th during the ceremony in honor of our state's one hundreth birthday.
The purchase of "Dewey" was made possible by major donor, the Fountain Hills Library Association, and other generous donors who contributed to its purchase: Akito Masunaga, Carol and Sid Coates, Dennis and Linda Kester, Al and Sharon Koehlinger, Bill and Sally Mantle, Wally and Sheila Nichols, and Sandi Thompson and Norm Nominee.
A big "thank you" to Sydnee Pilarski and everyone who participated in this special endeavor.

Friends of the Library Sponsor Carpet Replacement
Fountain Hills Library Association (Friends of the Library) is pleased to work with the Town of Fountain Hills by sponsoring the total replacement of the carpet in the Fountain Hills Library. Continental Flooring will be doing the work between November 28th and December 2nd. Normal Library hours will not be disrupted as the work will begin after the library closes each evening.
The Friends of the Library are also participating in the renovation of the library by sponsoring the updating of the furniture in the teen section of the library. Membership dues and books sales from the Library Resale Bookstore make it possible for the Fountain Hills Library Association to regularly support the library. Annual single membership is $15.00 and family membership is $25.00 All the funds from members' dues and sales at the Library Resale Bookstore are returned to our library. Fountain Hills residents are encouraged to support our wonderful library by joining the Library Association. Membership Forms are available in the Library.

Fountain Hills Library Association is dedicated to assisting in the support of programs, facilities and activities of the Fountain Hills Library. FHLA strives to focus public attention on Fountain Hills Library services, facilities and needs. We promote cultural, educational, and recreational activities within the Library. We assist in sponsoring programs for the extension and improvement of Library services and resources. We aid in providing equipment and other facilities for the Library.
