Arizona Author Schnebly Heiginger a Big Hit

Lisa Schnebly Heidinger captivated an audience of 100 people for over an hour at the Community Center on Thursday, relating stories, answering questions and signing her latest book, Arizona: 100 Years Grand.

Ms. Heidinger, the great granddaughter of Sedona Schnebly after whom Sedona, Az was named, spoke with warm enthusiasm about the 100 year history and the many intriguing aspects of our beautiful state.

The Fountain Hills Library Association (Friends of the Library) sponsors several author programs yearly. Look for future presentations which are being scheduled for the Fall of this year

Fountain Hills Library is located next to the community center at 12901 N. La. Montana Dr. .

FHLA Youth Director Does Well at State

Alexis Stein, Friends of the Library (FHLA) Youth Director and a Fountain Hills High School Junior, recently received high honors as a State HOSA Team member. Alexis, also a Mesa EVIT student, competed with her HOSA Team in the Arizona State competition, HOSA Bowl, on April 1st to 3rd at The Weston LaPaloma in Tucson. Their team came within one point of going to the National HOSA Competition in Orlando, FL. Alexis’s goal in attending the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) while still in her junior year at Fountain Hills High School, is to continue and complete her training as a Certified Nursing Assistant upon her high school graduation.

Health Occupations Students of America, HOSA, is a national organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people

Ms. Stein, as Youth Director on the Fountain Hills Library Association Board, also works actively with Rob Wilson in planning and facilitating youth programs at the Library.

Library Resale Bookstore Celebrates 10 Years

Ten Years! For ten years the residents of Fountain Hills have had the privilege of browsing and buying books at rock bottom prices at the Fountain Hills Library Resale Bookstore.

On March 1, 2002, the Fountain Hills Library Association (Friends of the Library) opened the Resale Bookstore in the new Library facility, which had opened on October 1, 2001.

Our Fountain Hills Library is one of "the best" in the Valley because of the support of our Fountain Hills residents....through book sales and membership in the Fountain Hills Library Association. From the lovely artwork in the lobby, the beautiful stained glass windows on the north side of the library, to the new carpeting in the library proper, the Friends of the Library have helped to make the library a "destination place" for all of us to enjoy.
